How to Turn on Automatic Play Calling in NBA 2K22 Next-Gen MyTeam

Play calling in NBA 2K22 Next-Gen can win or lose a game just like in the real NBA League. One player can definitely control a game, however, good play calling can determine who wins that game if used correctly. Different situations call for different plays and can be difficult to do when you are handling the ball or trying to guard a top point guard like Kyrie Irving. To help newer players or those that are not familiar with play calling, NBA 2K22 has a setting that you can change to put the coach in charge of calling the plays for you. In other words, automatically playing can be turned on to help you out during your games.

NBA 2K22 MyTeam Gameplay Play Calling

Automatic play calling makes your life easier!

You probably noticed that players without the ball won’t do much running around or won’t make too many attempts to get open. Just like in the real NBA, coaches use play calling for different schemes to get players moving to get easy buckets and trap high-profile players. You can do this yourself by opening the playcalling menu during the game. This can be a problem for some because the menu can get in the way if you are not used to selecting plays while you’re handling the ball or trying to play defense. You most likely will end up with multiple turnovers if you are not familiar with selecting plays.

For those people that would rather let the coach call the plays, switching this setting may be your best option.

Follow thesethe steps:

  1. Open “MY TEAM” tab

From the MyTeam home screen go over to the “MY TEAM” tab at the top of the screen.

  2. Select “Lineups Management”

Once you are in the “MY TEAM” Menu, go to “Lineups Management” on the left.

  3. Select your lineup

Choose the lineup that you would like to edit.

  4. Select “Coaching”

Scroll over to coaching at the top of the screen

  5. Select “Coach Settings.”

Scroll down to and select “coach settings” and in this menu, you should see two options that say “Offense Playcalling” and “Defense Playcalling.”

  6. Change “Offense Playcalling” and/or “Defense Playcalling” settings to Auto.

Once you do this, the computer will now call either offensive or defensive plays, or both depending on what you have selected.
