Having your best player automatically substituted out of a game in a key moment can be massively upsetting especially if you end up losing that game. In NBA 2K22 Next-Gen automatic substitutions are turned on by default, which means that your A.I. coach will decide when substitutions will be made. For some players, this may be fine, but other players may want to have more control over who is sitting on the bench and on the court at all times.

Don’t sub me out!

During your games, you may notice that when your players get tired or get into foul trouble, your coach will substitute them out of the game. This is because your coach is attempting to help manage the game while you can focus on play calling and getting baskets. This can become a bit annoying especially when you were not expecting to have your backup point guard in the game and may end up making a mistake because of it.

This can be easily fixed by following the steps below.

Follow these steps:

Go to the “MY TEAM”
Go to the “MY TEAM” tab at the top of the MyTeam home screen.
Open “Lineups Management” and select a lineup
In the “MY TEAM” tab go to the “Lineups Management” option on the left and select your lineup.
Scroll to “Coaching” and select “Coach Settings”
Scroll over to coaching at the top of the screen and go down to and select coach settings.
Change the “Substitutions” setting to manual
In this menu, you will see the option that says “Substitutions” with a default setting of “auto.”Change this setting to manual and you will be able to control when your player substitutions are called.

Once you make the change, make sure that you remember to give your starters a rest once in a while. If you keep your players on the court for too long, they may start playing badly and missing open shots because they are fatigued.
